Leadership
Karen Cazemier MA BEd - CEO & Founder
For more than 15 years, Karen Cazemier has dedicated her career to senior care. Her journey began when her grandmother needed more support than the family could find in traditional settings. Wanting something more personal and comforting, Karen opened her first small care home, a place grounded in warmth, safety, and genuine connection.
Her work quickly grew into a lifelong commitment. Karen has since operated multiple residential care homes across Alberta, at times managing as many as five simultaneously. Her leadership has always been hands-on and heart-led, focused on creating true home like environments while navigating the complexities of staffing, licensing, and daily care.
Through this experience, Karen recognized a broader challenge: many exceptional small care homes remained largely invisible to families. Limited visibility, rising regulatory demands, and the realities of running a care home left little opportunity for operators to share their stories or highlight the quality of care within their homes.
That realization became the foundation for BedHub, a platform designed to expand access to trusted, high-quality care while bringing greater visibility to small homes and the communities they serve.
Caroline Redington MEd BA - Chief Operating Officer
Caroline Redington joined BedHub in its early stages, helping bring the vision to life as the organization began to take shape. With more than 25 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s transitions, her work has long been defined by intentional listening, steady guidance, and an ability to pair empathy with practical insight.
Her path into senior living became personal in 2018 when her own parents required increasing levels of care. Through that experience, Caroline gained firsthand understanding of the emotional and logistical complexities families face — and the profound difference that compassionate environments and clear information can make during times of uncertainty.
When her mother later moved into one of Karen’s homes, Caroline witnessed the strength of small, family-style care: relationships, comfort, and dignity woven into everyday life. That perspective continues to shape her leadership as she works to ensure BedHub remains a trusted resource for families while strengthening connections between care providers and the communities they serve.
Real homes, Real People
Together, Karen and Caroline continue to shape BedHub as a place where families can find real homes, run by real people who care. As BedHub continues to grow, its leadership will expand as well — welcoming new team members who share the same commitment to compassion, quality, and community. Each addition will help strengthen BedHub’s mission of supporting small-home operators and ensuring every family can find the care and connection they deserve.
